For years, Emmons, Hensley & Associate, PLC (formerly Bruce, Renner & Company, PLC) has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to local individuals and businesses. Our expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as financial statements and financial planning.

Our Team

Roy L. Emmons II, CPA
Principal 540-722-0172 Certified Public Accountant

Roy joined the firm in 2000. He is an experienced Certified Public Accountant with a demonstrated history of working in public accounting. He is experienced in individual income tax, corporate income tax, partnership income tax, estate and trust income tax, and tax planning. Specializing in service businesses, construction and real estate activities. He also oversees the firms financial statement engagements regarding prepared, compilation and reviewed financial statements for various businesses.

Roy is a graduate of Clarke County High School and received his BA in Business Administration from Shenandoah University in 2000.

Currently Roy serves as the chairman of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) political action committee. He has also served on the VSCPA tax committee and the online programs planning task force. He is the past treasurer of the Top of Virginia Builders Association, Clarke County Education Foundation and the Winchester Hiram Lodge #21.

In 2014 Roy received the VSCPA Top 5 CPAs Under 35 award. In 2009 he received the Top of Virginia Builders Association Leadership Award. He has also been recognized as a “Super CPA” in the young VSCPA CPA category.

Troy L. Hensley, CPA
Principal 540-722-0172 Certified Public Accountant

Troy joined the firm in 1999. He specializes in providing accounting and tax services to small to mid-size businesses, including physicians, service businesses, construction, and real estate activities. He also provides tax preparation and planning services for individuals. Troy received his BS in Accounting and BS in Horticulture from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the AICPA and VSCPA, and was recently named a ‘Super CPA’ in the category of Individual Tax by Virginia Business magazine.

Stacy L. Rembold, CPA

Stacy joined Emmons, Hensley & Associates PLC in January 2021. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Shepherd University in May 2005. Not only does Stacy come to the team with extensive public accounting experience, but also has experience in grant management and oversight. She brings over 15 years of accounting experience to the EHA team.

Stacy specializes in providing tax preparation and planning services to corporations, pass-through entities and individuals. She also has extensive accounting experience in compilation and preparation services. She is a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor and has used her knowledge of Quickbooks to assist clients with the set-up and operations of the program.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). She also serves on the board of the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the VSCPA.

Stacy is a people person and enjoys assisting clients with their accounting and financial needs. She likes helping people understand the numbers behind their business and working with them to find ways they can improve and grow their business. Public accounting has afforded her the opportunity to do the work she loves.

In her spare time Stacy enjoys running, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and two children. She particularly loves watching her daughter compete at her gymnastics meets and her son play baseball.

Lucila M. Vasquez

Lucila joined the firm in 2020. She graduated from John Handley High School. She went to George Mason University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Lucila is bilingual in English and Spanish. Lucila assists in preparing tax returns, financial statements, payroll, bookkeeping and other accounting responsibilities.

Aili J. Miller

Aili joined the firm in 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Shepherd University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Accounting from George Mason University. Aili has business experience in various industries including hospitality, property management, and real estate. She performs tax services and assists with other accounting and business functions.

Jennifer L. Payne
Office Manager 540-722-0172

Jennifer joined the firm in 2008. She is a graduate of Sherando High School. As the office manager, she is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and overseeing administrative support. The job can range widely in duties and responsibilities, from reception, copy editing and support. She is also in charge of the firm's billing.

Susie Ballenger
Bookkeeper 540-722-0172

Susie joined the firm in 2005 as a bookkeeper. She provides Peachtree and QuickBooks bookkeeping, in addition to providing on-site and phone support to in- house bookkeepers. Susie is a graduate of John Handley High School.
