For years, Emmons, Hensley & Associate, PLC (formerly Bruce, Renner & Company, PLC) has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to local individuals and businesses. Our Team

Roy L. Emmons II, CPA
Principal

Roy joined the firm in 2000. He is an experienced Certified Public Accountant with a demonstrated history of working in public accounting. He is experienced in individual income tax, corporate income tax, partnership income tax, estate and trust income tax, and tax planning. Specializing in service businesses, construction and real estate activities. He also oversees the firms financial statement engagements regarding prepared, compilation and reviewed financial statements for various businesses.

Roy is a graduate of Clarke County High School and received his BA in Business Administration from Shenandoah University in 2000.

Currently Roy serves as the chairman of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) political action committee. He has also served on the VSCPA tax committee and the online programs planning task force. He is the past treasurer of the Top of Virginia Builders Association, Clarke County Education Foundation and the Winchester Hiram Lodge #21.

In 2014 Roy received the VSCPA Top 5 CPAs Under 35 award. In 2009 he received the Top of Virginia Builders Association Leadership Award. He has also been recognized as a “Super CPA” in the young VSCPA CPA category.

Troy L. Hensley, CPA
Principal

Troy joined the firm in 1999. He specializes in providing accounting and tax services to small to mid-size businesses, including physicians, service businesses, construction, and real estate activities. He also provides tax preparation and planning services for individuals. Troy received his BS in Accounting and BS in Horticulture from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the AICPA and VSCPA, and was recently named a ‘Super CPA’ in the category of Individual Tax by Virginia Business magazine.

Becky L. Aselstine, CPA

Becky joined the firm in 2007. She is a graduate of James Wood High School and Bridgewater College, with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in accounting. Her main areas of accounting include taxation and financial statement compilations and reviews.

Tracy L. Anderson
Accountant

Tracy joined the firm in 2017. She is a graduate of Strayer University with a bachelors degree in accounting. She has worked in public accounting for over 30 years. She is experienced in income tax for individuals, businesses, estates and trusts. She also provides monthly accounting services including bookkeeping and payroll. Tracy is an expert in QuickBooks and Peachtree accounting software.

Jennifer L. Payne
Office Manager

Jennifer joined the firm in 2008. She is a graduate of Sherando High School. As the office manager, she is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and overseeing administrative support. The job can range widely in duties and responsibilities, from reception, copy editing and support. She is also in charge of the firm's billing.

Susie Ballenger

Susie joined the firm in 2005 as a bookkeeper. She provides Peachtree and QuickBooks bookkeeping, in addition to providing on-site and phone support to in- house bookkeepers. Susie is a graduate of John Handley High School.

Connie O. Strosnider
Administrative Assistant

Connie joined the firm in 2016. She is a graduate of James Wood High School. As administrative assistant, she handles office tasks, such as greeting clients, forwarding phone calls, scheduling appointments and filing.
